APS requires all conference attendees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to attending CUWiP. Attendees will be required to submit proof of vaccination prior to the conference. More information about COVID-19 related requirements and safety measures in place for this meeting will be provided as soon as Rutgers has determined its institutional guidelines for the spring 2022 semester.

Welcome to the web page for the 2022 Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CUWiP, pronounced "cue-wip") hosted by Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey!

This meeting will be one of 12 coordinated by the American Physical Society (APS) that will take place from Friday, January 21 through the afternoon of Sunday, January 23, 2022. The goal of APS CUWiP is to help undergraduate women continue in physics by providing them with a professional conference experience, information about graduate school and professions in physics, and access to other women in physics of all ages with whom they can share experiences, advice, and ideas. The national and local organizing committees of APS CUWiP strive to create a welcoming environment for all, including undergraduate women and gender minorities.

We aim to make CUWiP accessible to everyone. In exchange for a modest ($45) fee that can be waived in cases of financial hardship, you will be provided with food, lodging, local transportation, and a terrific program of physics-related talks, discussions, and other activities (all organized, and largely paid for, by CUWiP). Note that CUWiP has become incredibly popular, so to maximize the number of CUWiP participants who can be accommodated, participants will be assigned to sites based on travel logistics and site capacity (not always to their first choices). Please do not book travel or accomodations or plan to be at a specific site until you receive an email confirming you have been accepted to a specific CUWiP site.

You do not need to book or arrange your own accommodation on Friday or Saturday night. Support for travel to and from Rutgers will generally be provided by students' home institutions. In cases where students' home institutions or other sources are not able to cover travel costs, there are funds available to provide travel support, so that no one has to miss out on CUWiP for financial reasons.
